1. How the career journey started? Or who inspired you to start business/entrepreneurship?

   Entreprenuership was always in the blood. I come from a family background of highly educated & professional grandparents, parents & brother, living and working in Dubai for years. However I never believed in getting top notch degrees and start working for a big company or an MNC. I always thought, "Why should I work so hard for someone else & make his company bigger? If I can put the same efforts for my own business, some day, I may get a successful business name. Though I did work as a 3D animator & graphic designer for a few yrs in dubai and in Mumbai, I was always appreciated for my work and hard work. That's when I always thought, that I should make full use of my own efficiency rather someone else benefitting out of it.

   Since I was brought up in Dubai, I spent most of my childhood interacting with friends of different Cultures & Languages from different parts of India and from different parts of the World. However she always believed herself to be deeply rooted to Indian Values and Culture, and that's why she always used to look forward to the 2 months Vacation every year, she would take in "India – Her Native Place". This affection and love for India and specially Mumbai compelled her to leave her successful career in Dubai, as a 3D Animator and Graphic Designer and find her soul mate in Mumbai. Come her Wedding announcement, everybody was excited! Her friends who were scattered all over the world wanted to be part of her wedding! But it was practically not possible for them. They didn't know what I wanted at that point of time as gifts and there was no way they could have sent the gifts across to India.

   That's when I realized how badly a Gift Registry service was missing in India. That's when my entrepreneurial journey began.

   We repeatedly hear people complain about the gifts they get at their weddings or birthdays or other gift receiving occasions. A lamp which doesn't find a decent spot to park itself, or a hand-blender who feels out of place with the other state of art equipments around it, or the gangs of sparkling handmade-paper envelopes who characteristically make their way into a newly wedded couple's life, with or without invitation! Whether you need any of these things is mostly not taken into consideration by the Gift giver. Perhaps it's what they would themselves like to have or most probably it's something that fits within their budget or probably they have got the gift from someone else and they just want to pass it on….

3. What were the difficulties you had faced while starting/doing business?

   When I initially went up to my close family and friends with the idea, many thought that this concept cannot work in India. I got this reaction typically from the people of age group of 40 & above! But my conviction towards it was so strong that I still went ahead with the project. I have been getting an extremely encouraging response from young people from the age group of 14 – 35 years of age.

   Also the most difficult decision for me was to find the right company to develop my website. Good companies quoted exorbitant prices and the relatively reasonable website developers didn't have the required expertise to execute the project. Even after assigning the project to a company, they didn't take the project seriously and very laid back with the development. However finally after lot of difficulties, the website is finally live today!

4. Share with our readers about discovery period when you were facing difficulties in your business?

   The site took almost 1 & half years for development which otherwise would have taken not more than 6 months. But finally we were through.

5. Share with our readers about your experiment period after discovery period?

   We are currently in the discovery period.

6. What are your future plans? or Now what is your vision for next five years ?

   I see ShareUrJoy.com being pioneers in Gift Registry market in a couple of years to come.

   My vision is that Gift Registry should become mandatory in anyone's BIG occasions like Weddings, Birthdays, New born Baby, New House, Engagement, Anniversary, Charitable, Valentine's Day, Diwali, Mother's Day, Father's Day or for that matter any Special day in your life! We will also be soon coming up with other great Gifting Ideas to facilitate the customers well.

7. What will be your advice/suggestion for new entrepreneurs for starting new business?

   Entrepreneurship is easy for those who have lots and lots of passion in them, for their ideas or dreams. Thus any hurdles, difficulties or any problems can never become a reason for them to give up! Every hurdle is there to teach you something new and everything happens for a purpose! So go ahead and pursue your dreams!!
